When an extra layer of protection is desired, the included hard caps can be attached using the built-in twist-to-lock anchors to add an additional layer of armor-like protection to your knee pads. These included caps are made of hard wearing polyethylene to protect against the roughest and most abrasive surfaces from roofing shingles to textured cement and their smooth plate surface allows for easy side-to-side and pivoting movements. For working on delicate surfaces that are easily damaged, use the included non-marring caps. These caps are made of a flexible TPE copolymer to shield hardwood and tile flooring from damage.
